OK so it’s December now – I can officially start getting excited about Christmas! I love this season. I love decorating the tree (planned for next week), fairy lights, buying presents, gift-wrapping (I’m a nerd I know), parties, champagne, getting dressed up and seasonal good cheer! YAYY!
I love watching festive movies over Christmas and am looking to add to my collection. I already have “It’s a Wonderful Life“, “The Wizard of Oz“, “Harry Potter” and “Gone With The Wind“. I was hoping some of the Multiverse readers might be able to suggest some. What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Gremlins
Elf
I have Gremlins, I must get Elf and I don’t like TNBC. Heresy I know!
I think the Harry Potter series has certainly stolen the march on Christmas movies alright, even though they don’t really have anything to do with Christmas! But they are great winter-by-the-fire movies.
I find that movies I get AT Christmas become my Christmas movies, rather than anything more overt like actually being feel-good or Christmas-y. Is District 9 a Christmas movie?? I don’t think so but I’ll be watching it!
So enerally I like to dust off the DVDs I haven’t seen since last Christmas and watch them. But some more traditional Xmasy ones would be The Princess Bride, About A Boy, Bridget Jones’ Diary (I know, I know), Amadeus, Star Wars….
…and not a Christmas should go by without watching the Fr Ted Christmas special. And we always crack open the Black Books DVDs at Christmas too!
DIE HARD!
Amadeus? Didn’t know it was Chistmassy.
Die Hard is one of my sister’s favourites Matt. She’s fancied Bruce Willis since she was a small girl!
The Great Escape & Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
