There’s something about the image in the Chanel concession window in Brown Thomas that struck me as very familiar. The campaign stars Daria Strokous, was shot by Lagerfeld and styled by Carine Roitfeld and feature the label’s Paris Bombay collection. On my way home it hit me: the campaign is reminiscent of a well known image of James Joyce’s daughter Lucia dancing in Paris. I wonder if Karl and Carine used Lucia as inspiration?

I’ve always been slightly fascinated by her too! She was mentally ill as far as I know hence the family erasing her from their past. Haven’t seen the book but it’s going on my ever increasing Amazon wishlist!
