Hedi Slimane

Hedi Slimane is a French fashion designer, most well known for his work with Dior Homme from 2000-2007. His designs for the label were so covetable that Karl Lagerfeld famously lost almost 100 pounds in six months in order to be able to wear Slimane’s clothing. Since taking a sabbatical from fashion in 2008, Slimane has been taking portraits of celebrities and unknowns, which he showcases on his website, and exhibiting his photographs at various international galleries.

Slimane almost exclusively uses black and white for his portraiture and I love the way he lights his subjects. Some samples of his work below but I recommend going to his site to see his work in full.
