Most writers I know love quotes by other writers and great quotes combined with gorgeous graphics is a win-win. I found Obvious State’s work when having a browse on etsy and I love both the quotes they use in their pieces and the simple yet eye catching black and white design. The quotes come from authors such as Hemingway, Wilde, Vonnegut, Faulkner, Poe, Plath, Austen and many more.
Obvious State is run by Evan and Nichole Robertson and they are based in New York. They have garnered many fans (over 8,000 sales on etsy alone) and their work has been featured by Martha Stewart, Real Simple, The New York Times, L.A. Times, Pottery Barn, Apartment Therapy, Daily Candy, HGTV, BuzzFeed, My Modern Met and HBO.
I have shown four of my favourites below. Predictably I love the F. Scott Fitzgerald one but I think the Philip K. Dick one is my very favourite.
