Olympia Le-Tan

Olympia Le-Tan‘s book inspired bags have been seen in the hands of Tilda Swinton, Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams (carrying The Misfits bag to the BAFTAs, where she was in the running for Best Actress for My Week With Marilyn) – three actresses with sterling fashion credentials. The beautifully constructed clutches are based on works of great literature and for a fashion obsessed writer like me these might just be perfect. I agree wholeheartedly with Susie Bubble when she says that if you’re going to carry one of these bags you should have actually read the book in question, so the below picks are books that I have read – I particularly love the pink Huxley clutch.

Le-Tan began her career in accessories at Chanel before launching her own eponymous label in 2009. She presented her first Ready To Wear collection as part of Paris Fashion Week on March 3rd in Musée Nissim de Camondo in the grounds of Versailles and it was certainly eye-catching, not just because the models ended up taking the clothes off! In addition Le-Tan is designing a capsule collection for Net A Porter to be released in May. It looks like 2012 is gearing up to be her year.
