This single has been on repeat on my laptop for a while now. It’s taken from Battles’ last album Gloss Drop and features 80s electro pop legend Gary Numan on vocals. I mostly love it because of John Stanier’s drumming which elevates the track to a whole other level. He’s such a distinctive drummer (not just because his ride cymbal is always dangling above his head on stage!) – his playing shows the discipline from his drum corps background. I love his playing with Tomahawk and Atlas is one of my favourite tracks of the last five years purely because of him. Enjoy!
