The above might seem like an oxymoron but I actually think it describes this home perfectly. It was featured on Design*Sponge, one of my favourite interior design websites, months ago. The home belongs to Bernadette Pascua, an illustrator, and Andrew Stinson, a fashion photographer, and it’s located in the uberhip district of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York.
I’ve always loved monochrome; whether it’s for clothes or interiors, I can never be bored with black and white. The decor in this home balances bold moves, like the black bedroom walls, with airy spaces and a clean look. It also cleverly combines glamorous 20s elements like chrome and lucite with more rustic wooden textures. Somehow it just works. I’m taking inspiration from these guys. (And who couldn’t love that gorgeous dog?!)
