I love the idea of Nelson, a collaboration between Blank Slate Books and 54 of the best and brightest comic book artists in the UK edited by Rob Davis and Woodrow Phoenix. The idea is that each of the artists would tell the story of a single day in a different year in the life of Nelson, a female character they created together. Given that each artist has a different style, Nelson has a different appearance in each of the stories, and the mood changes too, however it is given cohesion via the editing skills of Davis and Phoenix. This would be an ideal Christmas present for the graphic novel fan in your life and you have the added bonus of giving to charity as all the profits from the first 4,000 copies go to Shelter, the homeless charity in the UK.
