One of the best music conferences, South By South West (SXSW) kicks off in Austin Texas on the 11th of this month. I have never visited Texas and would love to and Austin seems to be the best place in Texas. It’s a college town and therefore has a young population, is vibrant and has a great music, film and comedy scene. The schedule of bands playing at SXSW is stupendous and some of the acts I’d like to see include A-Trak, Boys Noize, Diplo, James Vincent McMorrow, MSTRKRFT, Spank Rock, Wu-Tang Clan and Yoko Ono. I’d also love to attend SXSW Interactive which features five days of presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology. I’ll be looking forward to hearing reports on this year’s event.

I also think Matt Nathanson will be at that event. If you have a chance, check out his music….it can be pretty pop-like, but it’s fun. Totally a nice way to wind down.
