I saw a link to this post on my friend’s Facebook page and was intrigued. Brian Dettmer creates art using books, knives, surgical implements and tweezers! He removes pages and carves out sections of encyclopedias, medical and illustration books, and dictionaries to create sculptural works. Dettmer’s work has been exhibited and collected throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe, including in the Museum of Art and Design (NY), Museum Rijswijh (Netherlands), Wellcome Collection (England) and The Bellevue Arts Museum (WA).
Needless to say, I want one.
