Finsk

When Manolo Blahnik describes your work as “nothing like anybody is doing at the moment; exquisite, divine, perfect”, as a shoe designer you know you’re on the right track. Such is the reaction to Finsk since its inception in 2004. Julia Lundsten is certainly creating a stir with her beautifully crafted architectural shoes and she has been described as the “Eames of footwear”. The fashion industry has fallen in love with Finsk, with Elle giving her the “Accessories Designer of the Year 2010” award amongst other industry accolades. It’s got to be said that the people at Finsk are also some of the most efficient, professional and lovely people I have ever dealt with.

I fell in love, HARD, with her pewter wedge boots in the AW 2010 collection. Unfortunately they have now sold out so that is one shoe dream that won’t be coming true for me any time soon. However her collection for SS 2011 is just as innovative, wearable and stunning as her previous work.

And finally a peek at the boots that started it all. I will forever be pairing them with outfits I own and very very sad that I can’t make it happen!
