Music Matters

The Music Matters campaign is a collective of people across the music industry, including artists, retailers, songwriters, labels and managers, formed to remind listeners of the significance and value of music. The site contains short films by very talented animators and video producers on their chosen musical subject. I particularly love the short film directed by Conor Ryan on Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy, but there are also lovely films on Kate Bush and Nick Cave amongst others. Check all the videos out on the site and on the Music Matters Youtube channel.

  1. Shinners

Well done writing about and promoting this Alex, reminding people how powerful music is in the good times and the bad just may be the way to stop people nicking it! We wouldn’t work for free so why should people who write songs? the focus is on the big bad record label too much, robbing music has a knock on effect for all artists, and especially upcoming unsigned bands who cannot fund their next tour or record because illegal downloading has become the norm with a certain age group…
    Rant over

  2. I think you’re right Shinners. Plus I think it’s a beautifully executed campaign. Not shoving the message down people’s throats but instead having a positive creative spin on it. Brilliant.
