Tom Ford held the preview of his Spring Summer 2011 collection last September, but it was very exclusive and no photographs were released to the media. The only thing anyone had to go on were the rapturous descriptions of the show from the very few that were there. The anticipation in the fashion community has been raging ever since and finally he has brought out a video of the show.
The show is a veritable who’s who with Beyonce, Daphne Guinness, Julianne Moore, Lauren Hutton, Karen Elson, Stella Tennant, Rita Wilson and Chanel Iman all walking for Tom. The video is edited at a fast pace with lots of quick cuts and backstage shots so we don’t get to see detailed views of the clothes. What we do see however is gorgeous; lots of colour, fringing, feathers, seventies inspired suits, turbans and animal print. It sounds like a mish-mash of influences but the inimitable Mr. Ford makes it work. Check it out.
