I was whiling away ten minutes in the hairdressers on Saturday waiting for my sister to pay for her new do and I discovered “Let Me In” by Mario Testino. This coffee table book is filled with beautiful shots of various actors, singers and random celebrities. The pictures are outtakes from magazine shoots Testino has done for Vogue, Vanity Fair and other glossies.
Peruvian-born Testino is based in London, but he travels extensively shooting for Vanity Fair, American, British, French and Italian Vogue, and GQ. Galleries around the world have staged his solo exhibitions and his work is held in the permanant collections of many galleries and museums, including the National Portrait Gallery in London, V&A Museum in London, and New York University.
I think when I buy my next photography/art book this Testino one has got to be it. The shots are a great insight into each of the subjects.
